Abstract:The Siege of Lanka series of paintings and drawings was produced in Guler some time in the 2nd quarter of the 18th century. Although neither a drawing nor a painting from the series is represented in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, there are in this collection a number of Ramayana paintings from the hills which are interesting in themselves as well as for their relationship to the Siege of Lanka pictures.
