Abstract:Amuktamalyada is a Telugu Mahaprabandha writen by Sri Krishnadevaraya, the Vijayanagara king.The story of Godadevi or Andal, one of the twelve Alvars is the theme of the work.In one of the stories the policy and principles to be followed by the king has been dealt with.Matters relating to the life-style and personality of the king, his duties and responsibilities and the subjects; appointment of ministers, and administrative staff and their functioning; relationship with bordering states; internal safety and security, dealing with emissaries,convoys and ambassadors;receipts and expenditures of the kingdom, the care to be taken regarding the various branches of the army and the fortsetc, all comprising matters relating to the seven limbs of the kingdom have been discussed in this work.It is a commentary to the principles of polity studied by him to which the royal author applied his personal experience.
