Biography: C N Gopalaratnam
Mr. C N Gopalaratnam was born at Coimbatore, September 15th, 1894. In 1916 he graduated from the Presidency College. He took the law degree in 1919. The partition of Bengal drew him into the vortex of politics. In 1921 he abandoned his practice. Since 1924 he is attending all the Congress sessions.
For a long time he was the Secretary of the Coimbatore Congress Committee. As the Secretary of the District Congress Committee, he did valuable work. Since 1931 he was elected the A.I.C.C. In 1931 he was elected a member of the Municipal Council.
A combination of lofty thought with passionate sincerity in his characteristic. He has won a secure place in the political life of Tamil Nadu.
