Biography: Lakshim Shankar

Lakshim Shankar is one of the foremost and popular vocalist of India. She had her initial training from Ustad Abdul Rehman Khan of Patiala gharana. She later learned from many well known masters including professor B.R.Deodhar and Ravi Shankar. She is endowed with a rich and melodious voice which encompasses three octaves with greatest ease, precision, tone perfection and clarity. She holds her listeners spell bound by her arresting style and dedication to music. She has participated in all the important music festivals around globe. She has lent her voice to many films in various languages. She is having commercial records to her credit including compact discs and video cassettes.
