Biography: Nityanand Kanuga

Mr. Nityanand Kanuga was born in 1900. He was educated at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and Law College Calcutta.

He participated in the Civil Disobedience movement and was sentenced to six months imprisonment. As a result, the high court withdrew his stand.

He is a staunch Congressman. He was the Secretary of the Orissa Parlimentary Party and the President of the Cuttack District Congress Committee.

His records show him a fighter and not a figure head. He has drawn from the people confidence and respect.

In the Orissa Cabinet he is the minister in charge of the Revenue and Public Works. His capacity to grasp problems with alertness and insight and his activities are sure to make him a successful Minister.
