Biography: Singh Bandhu

Singh Bandhu - Tejpal Singh and Surinder Singh are among leading classical music exponent of India. Training for Singh Bandhu began early under their elder brother, principal G.S.Sardar. Shri Sardar imparted training in Patiatal and Kirana styles and Ustad Amir Khan taught them the finer points of Khyal singing in the Indore idiom. In singing Singh Bandhu combine chastity of form with creativity of expression. They practice Indian classical music as an act of faith. Thus slow delineation are contemplative and serene and their fast singing reminds one of the ecstasy of a Sufism. Apart from their specialization Khyal style - Singh Bandhu have made significant contribution to the world of devotional singing. They have composed music for shabads and also lent voices for the national award winning tele-serial and feature film. A number of prestigious awards have been bestowed upon Singh Bandhu. They have repeatedly performed abroad.
