The Himalayas as a Tourist Destination

Spread across the vast northern border of India the magnificent Himalayan mountain series provide a fantastic opportunity for the adventurous, spiritual and anthropological traveler. It is one the last remaining mysteries of the world -- from the existence of the Yeti to the elusive Shangri-La.

Not so well known to outsiders is the fast dwindling flora and fauna of the Himalayas. The flowers of the Himalayan valley have a special beauty and tenderness.

Some of the more popular tourist spots in the Himalayas are: Darjeeling, Kulu-Manali, Shimla, Gangtok, and Srinagar.
