Yakshagana Performer

Yakshagana is an very old form of folk art involving song and dance sequences. Elaborately decorated artists typically  perform scenes from mythology or scriptures, all night long. In the days when cinema and television were not yet forthcoming, along with drama troupes, Yakshagana constituted primary mode of entertainment among villagers in rural Karnataka, especially on the Konkan coast.
