|India and Osama bin Laden|| |
| Each time I visit India since 2001, people asked me where Osama bin
Laden was. They seemed to think because I lived in USA, I'd know.
I always told them Osama was in Pakistan. It made my friends happy,
because it confirmed a stereotype that Pakistan is a terror sponsoring menace.
Last night's killing of Osama in Pakistan has only confirmed what sensible
Indians have known for a long time.
In the middle of all the celebration, we have to wonder the righteousness of
one country going deep inside another sovereign country (and supposed ally) and
conducting military operations.
This operation has greatly diluted Pakistan's credibility -- both as a
civilized nation as well as a sovereign nation capable of governing.
USA - 1
India - 1
Pakistan - 0
