Just heard via instant message that noted historian, Prof. G.S. Dikshit passed away. He was 93.
Dr. Dikshit was the professor under whom my mother did her Ph.D. and she revered him as a guru. He served as the the head of the History Department at the Karnatak University in Dharwad.
I mourn his passing.
