Married at the tender age of 11, Savitramma got educated as she educated her children and went on to become a professor. She was a keen student of Kannada and Telugu literature and of Hindu epics, Ramayan and Mahabharat.
Savitramma had a magnetic personality and people were drawn to her intelligence, scholarship, and generosity.
We have lost a great woman of our times.
