First Online: August 20, 2001 The Malenadu (a.k.a. Malnad, meaning a hilly area) is a region of Karnataka spanning the districts of Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu (Coorg) and parts of South Kanara that share similar geography and culture.
