The Town of Udupi

Udupi is a temple town located in a district by the same name, near the city of Mangalore in Karnataka state. Udupi is the home to the famous Krishna temple and the "Ashta Mathas" -- the eight mathas that take turns (paryaya) to manage the temple affairs.
