Ramzanji, the Postman

Story, circa 1968

The Kamat couple wrote letters often among themselves, almost everyday -- when they were not together. In the rural town of Jobner, this "marriage of letters" was a matter of fascination for the village postman Mr. Ramzanji. After Kamat moved his residence out of Jobner, Ramzanji would personally forward any correspondence Kamat received at the old address, always with a personal note written on the envelope about the welfare of town. Here's a picture of Ramzanji.
