Abstract:The land between Hesaraghatta tank in the north and Manchanabele valley in the south, i.e river Arkavathi basin, which is in the north west and western region of Bangalore city was called as Kukkal Nadu in the inscriptions.It was an administrative division under Ganga, Chola, Hoysala and Vijaynagara emperors.The desendants of Dodda Gowda of Kittenhalli were presumed to be nada Gowdas of this nadu. Mukthinatha of Binnamangala was considered as nada devate.
