Abstract:Influence of Hardikar Manjappa in Davangere could be felt from 1906 onwards-his newspaper Dhanurdhari published Tilak`s ideas from Kesari,started Veerashaiva Tarun Sangha which took active part in the 1924 Belgaum Congress.Later Gandhiji visited Davangere and his civil-disobedience movement was carried out by the local dignitaries.Jungle satyagraha, Quit India movement brought the people of Davangere on the forefront in the freedom struggle.
