Abstract:Navarnga is a mantapa with nine ankanas (spans)and this is a part of the temple where dance and musical recitals are held. The Chennakeshava temple mantapa has perfect acoustics and claim made in the records of the time of their construction that it was built as per the injunctions of Bharata's 'Natyasastra' appears to be true. Those builders had a scientific idea of acoustics is also borne out by this study.
