Abstract:Under the reign of Nizam, Kalaburgi, Bidar, Raichur and Koppal districts which were in Hyderabad state had little educational facilities. Tilak`s National education system got momentum under Gandhiji. Alur Venkatrao worked in this direction. National schools were established. The author describes the historical background of these places along with chronological explanations of National movements followed in the Hyderabad State. He also enumerated the different personalities like Venkatrao Kulkarni, Anantha Krishnacharya Avanchi, Chennamallappa Kalaburgi, Raghavendra Desai etc. who were deeply involved in the educational upliftment in this area, which contributed to the maintenance of national spirit and serious participation in the struggle for independence
