| Abstract: | The author has pointed out the importance of 'Ayyavole Inoor Varthak Sangha'merchant guild of Aihole.They were supported by the mahajanas. These merchants travelled all over the country and outside too for business purposes and donated generously for the good cause and became model cotizens wherever they lived.Asa result Aihole became a great business centre.It is interesting to note that the tradition of worshipping Ayyavole Ishwara is found among the Natukoti Chettiars of Tamilnadu even today These Chettiars spread this tradition in Srilanka, Sumatra etc. Source of Abstract: Provided by Author(s) |
