Krishnaji Bhimrao Antrolikar

Dr. Antrolikar was born at Antroli, September 2nd 1898. He took the M.B.B.S degree of the Bombay University and is a doctor by profession.

He is a staunch Congressman. Since 1926 he has taken an active part in organizing Congress work at Sholapur. On behalf of the M.P.C.C he carried on an intensive propaganda in the neighboring districts.

When the riots broke out at Sholapur, Dr.Antrolikar was charged with conspiracy to commit arson and sentenced to the year's rigorous imprisonment. At the same time he was sentenced to four years imprisonment under two different counts. The high Court quashed the sentence of ten years and he was released when the Gandhi-Irwin pact was signed.

After his release he was again arrested under the Criminal Law Amendment Act and sentenced to two years imprisonment. The doctor is the spearhead of the youth movement in Sholapur.

He is an illustrious patriot. As a political worker he is singularly well and vigorous. The persecution of the Government has failed to blunt the edge of his political talent.
