Biography: Lakshminath Misra

Mr. Lakshminath Misra was born in 1894. In 1913 he graduated with distinction from the Patna College. He took the law degree from the Calcutta University. Then he set up practice at Madhubani.

In 1926 he was elected the Chairman of the Madhubani Municipal Board. Then the financers of the Municipality were in a decrepit condition. During his regime its finances improved considerably. Since 1933 he is the Honorary Secretary of the Rohika Central Co-operative Union.

In the same year he was elected the Vice President of the Bar Association.

The government conferred on him the title of “Rai Saheb” but being a sincere Congressman he renounced it. He is a member of the A.I.C.C. Nature has blessed him with a vigorous constitution and a healthy mind. He is a man of deep sincere and self sacrificing convictions.
