During the Satyagraha he courted imprisonment twice. He was confined in goal for two years. Since a decade he is the Secretary of the Panch Mahak Kelavani Mandal, which was founded by Thakkar Baba. Mr.Gandhi took the lead in starting the Kalol Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, and the Sarvajanik Library.

He became over-night famous when he moved a resolution in the Gujarat Division Co-Operative Conference sympathizing with the Bardoli Satyagraha. The conference broke on the resolution. The delegates met under another roof and unanimously adopted it. Mr.Gandhi represents the Panch Mahals West General Constituency in the Assembly.

In every country and in every clime patriotism has formed part of the ennobling influence in life. The politically conscious populace of Gujarat must be more respected for martyr princes. Mr.Gandhi occupies a unique position in that hierarchy of patriots.
