Prapancham Sitram

Dr. Prapancham Sitram, is an imaginative, discerning and versatile flutist, who has earned national and international reputation through his concert career starting as a child prodigy from 1950.  Prapancham's astounding and unrivalled breath control, sensitive tonal chastity, perfect intonation, mediating long phrases create a musical bliss for his listeners.  Prapancham who is otherwise very highly qualified in academic subjects with doctorate degrees to his credit traveled extensively several time all over the globe and received innumerable titles, honors and award including 'kalaimamani' award from Tamilnadu Sangeet Natak Academy in 1983 and state insignia by the king of Laos in 1964. He is the asthana vidwan (resident scholar) of  Tirupati Tirumal temples. His orchestral composition won him an international acclaim as conductor of All India Radio vadyavrinda. Dr. Prapancham Sitram served as the Director of programmes in All India Radio, New Delhi.
