Mario de Miranda

Mario de Miranda was born in Daman to parents of Goan descent. He studied in Portuguese and in English. Although Miranda has no formal training in art, his cartoons feature his distinct style in themes and illustrations. He worked in the Times of India group of publications when his cartoons became popular being featured in the Illustrated Weekly of India. 

Miranda's depiction of Goan life is superb and it has gone into Goan folklore.
