Question What is the genealogy of the Shankaracharyas?

Answer Adi Shankkaracharya established four mathas in four corners of India. They are at Sringeri in South referred to as Adimath (Original Math), at Puri (East), at Dwaraka (West) and Srinagar (North). The first guru was Shankaracharya himself. Next came Sureshwaracharya, Nityabodha Ghanacharya followed and Jnana ghanacharya followed him. There is a long genealogy of gurus of Sringeri Math who are referred to as Jagadgurus (Preceptors of the Universe)
