Men of the Household in Changing Times

In this picture of 1920s  found in Uttara Kannada,  members of a Konkani family  are assembled with the new family possession (the bicycle). Notice a combination of Konkani traditional clothing as well as the western tie and coat worn by the man in center who probably worked for the British Government.
