Lord Krishna (with his wheel weapon in a finger)
rides  Garuda, the King of Birds

This is an unusual painting, as  Krishna is mostly shown with cows in ancient Indian art and Garuda is typically portrayed carrying his master, Lord Vishnu. Here, the artist may have tried to indicate that the two deities are the same. (According to Hindu beliefs, Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu)
