The Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island (map) is a small and beautiful island surrounded by Lake Huron in Michigan.
Pictures of my vacation there in Aug.-Sept of 2002.

No motorized vehicles are allowed on the island.
One has to commute only by bicycles, horses or horse carriages. How cool is that?

Things to visit are the Lakeshore fronts, the hanging bridge,
the Grand Hotel, and other beautiful buildings  spread throughout the island.

The Grand Hotel

The island provides stunning views of the sunset and sunrise.
Here are some attempts to capture the beauty of Sunset at Mackinac.

Sunrise at Mackinac Island

The entire island is filled with flowers, and serene views of the lake.
