Draft Foreign Policy Speech for Romney Durable Link to this BLOG
Dear Fellow Americans,

My opponents repeatedly say that I have no military and foreign policy experience -- let us not forget that President Obama, before getting elected had neither, and civilian and elected authority over these limbs is one of the core strengths of our Government.

For a long time American Foreign Policy has been implemented based strongly on precedence, and our moral ability to lead the world. Our participation in World Wars, and others have been guided by this principle, and even though we have made mistakes, we come together to defend our country, our policies, and we take remedial action.

This is the principle on which my administration will formulate our policies. The litmus test of my policy is going to be is it good for American interests in the short term, and is it going to be good for America in the long term?

I have been accused of pandering to Israel due to my personal friendship with the Israeli leaders. I make no apologies for it, because I feel we two nations are bonded by a divine bondafe. I think Israel is our friendliest ally in the world.

In the last four years, the President has failed to lead us on military and espionage matters. We lost credibility, lives and our image through the leaks, attacks on our embassies and killing of our diplomats. There are more people who hate America today than four years ago. I intend to change that.

I believe in strengthening our Armed Forces -- not just through better weapons, but also through better training, better perks for our personnel, and better cyber protection for our banks, institutions and our people. Whereas my opponent believes in cutting down our military budget.

When America is strong economically and militarily, every country will look up to us, admire us and will try to prosper like us. Unfortunately, if you see the events of last four years we cannot claim that.

The rise of China is a particular threat for us. Not only they own much of our debt, but also have been engaged in bullying tactics in their neighborhood. They have been manipulating their currency to beat us in the economic competition, which I feel in unfair to the American worker. They steal our intellectual properties, and it is costing American businesses billions of dollars in lost revenues. The President has failed to stop China's unfair practices, whereas my administration will take an aggressive stance.

We must be strong ourselves first, before we try to help others. When America is strong and healthy, we can reopen our old dreams -- whether it is going to Mars or flying the space shuttles, so it is very important that we elect a President, who has shown leadership abilities, whose judgement in critical matters is deeply embeded in his faith and in righteousness, and who believes we need put on our own oxygen mask first before we help others.
